I’ve been a practicing dietitian for the last 35 years working in various settings to ensure the provision of improved health and safe foods through education and partnership. I love working with clients to make a plan that includes all the important parts of their lives to find a sustainable working solution to their health needs. I’ve seen patients from all walks of life — from young to old, overweight to healthy — and have seen firsthand how eating well and focusing on an overall healthy lifestyle can make a huge difference.
I think it’s never too late to make a positive lifestyle change that will improve your health, and I am here to help you do just that. No one’s journey is the same, which is why I always start by getting to know you and your goals. We’ll create a plan specific to you and your health goals, as well as form an ongoing partnership to establish the skills and habits surrounding food that will help maintain your health.
I am very client focused and want to hear from you what is working and what is not. I structure plans to fall in line with the pillars of lifestyle medicine. We talk about diet but realize the importance of sleep, physical activity, managing stress, healthy relationships and substance abuse when talking about diet and nutrition within your life and total health, all in a way that works best for you!
Why I Started Plate Level Nutrition
I started Plate Level Nutrition because I wanted to help people take back their health. Having experience in serving long term care, I witnessed, first hand, the widespread level of debility and chronic disease which were rooted in lifestyle choices. On the other end of the spectrum, I was seeing how type two diabetes and other adult diseases are now afflicting children. It quickly became apparent that we must be equipped with knowledge on how to change from the status quo to improve our health if we are to thrive. This greater call made me feel inspired and empowered to to help myself and others around me reach their full health potential. I realized I was on the same trajectory as the populations I was serving and I turned around my diet to include more plants and got rid of the processed foods. At the end of the day, I believe food is medicine and I want to help others reach and maintain better health so they can feel great and can enjoy the beauty of each day of life.
I am excited to meet you and learn how I can help you in your journey to health. Contact me in the way most convenient for you.
